The World We Live In
This is another song from The Killers. It shares the same title as this blog post and is from the album Day and Age, an album I have been going crazy about every since I've brought it. This album is why I began blogging again after a long hiatus. This is one of my favorite songs from the album and can be very thought provoking. I always wonder what could be on Brandon's mind when he's writing. . . of course we may never know so it's best to take your own interpretation from it.

White Houses
White Houses is a song performed by Vanessa Carlton. I haven't seen her around lately but I miss her. Last I heard she was signed to Murder Inc. and I'm sure that turned out well, not!!! Anyway, this song came out in the summer of 04 and has been my favorite song by her since. It is one of my summer anthems so I hope that you like it too! The video is also pretty awesome, bet you didn't know she was a ballerina.
Here it is, white houses:

Hustla
I told you give me a minute and I'll be right back. . .
If you look over to the left you will notice Daylin Wright, creator and designer of 4Luv clothing which is clothing made for all ages, all races and genders. It can be worn anywhere and still be considered fashionable. He describes the clothing produced by 4Luv as "ready-to-wear clothing but it is so universal that you can easily match it up with sneakers and jeans or match it with some Comme des Garçons on the runway and it'll be high fashion".
But if you are like me you are probably wondering where the name of the line came from. "The actual story behind 4Luv comes from when I was at college and a close friend of mine and I would do things "for the love of fashion". . .like get dressed up to parties and on the yard just for the fun of it. So when I started making clothes, I named the line after that but shortened it to 4Luv".

Tell me what they know
bursts into tears while Nick plays a tribute video for their party at Palms in
Vegas. At first I must admit I thought this whole thing was a publicity
stunt. But it looks to be real, it seems as though Mariah's dream-lover
has finally came and rescued her.
*I love you Mi Mi*

Gossip Girl

If you go back a few posts you will see my review for the movie Doubt. The following is an exert from the screen play and gives a great metaphor for gossip:
A woman was gossiping with a friend about a man she hardly knew-- I know none of you
have ever done this---that night she had a dream. A great hand appeared over her and
pointed down at her. She was immediately seized with an overwhelming sense of guilt. The
next day she went to confession. She got the old parish priest, Father O’Rourke, and she told
him the whole thing.
“Is gossiping a sin?” she asked the old man. “Was that the hand of God Almighty pointing a
finger at me?" “Should I be asking your absolution? Father, tell me, have I done something
wrong?”
“Yes!” Father O’Rourke answered her. “Yes, you ignorant, badly brought up female! You have
borne false witness against your neighbor, you have played fast and loose with his reputation,
and you should be heartily ashamed!”
So the woman said she was sorry and asked for forgiveness.
“Not so fast!” says O’Rourke. “I want you to go home, take a pillow up on your roof, cut it
open with a knife, and return here to me!”
So the woman went home, took a pillow off her bed, a knife from the drawer, went up the fire
escape to the roof, and stabbed the pillow. Then she went back to the old parish priest as
instructed.
“Did you gut the pillow with the knife?” he says.
”Yes, Father.”
“And what was the result?”
“Feathers,” she said.
“Feathers?” he repeated.
“Feathers everywhere, Father!”
“Now I want you to go back and gather up every last feather that flew out on the wind!”
“Well,” she said, “it can’t be done. I don’t know where they went. The wind took them all over.”
”And that,” said Father O’Rourke, “IS GOSSIP!”
Great story, right? Well it's also a great movie. So go buy it, go rent it or go borrow it (just don't steal it).
**Doubt now out on DVD and Blu-ray**
